THE FOURTH FLASH (How Life & Atoms are the Proofs for God Almighty) :

Look! Observe carefully the multicoloured beings that float in the ocean of the heavens and are scattered over the face of the earth, and the innumerable works of art fashioned in countless forms.

You will see that upon each of them is impressed a unique emblem belonging exclusively to the Eternal Sun (Almighty God), an insignia that can never be imitated. Just as we have already seen the seals of life and the stamps upon living beings, so too there are distinctive signatures upon the act of giving life (ihyā). Since comparisons bring profound truths closer to human understanding, we shall explain this reality through an example.

For instance, from the planets down to the smallest droplets of water, from tiny fragments of glass to the glittering crystals of snow, each reflects a tiny image of the sun. In every one of these countless objects appears a luminous mark peculiar to the sun, a reflection of its radiance.

Now, if you refuse to accept that these countless little suns are merely reflections and manifestations of the one real sun, then you would be compelled to believe that every single drop of water, every fragment of glass exposed to light, and every transparent particle possesses an actual, independent sun within itself. Such a belief would be nothing less than the height of madness and an infinite degree of irrationality.

Exactly the same is true with regard to the manifestations of the Eternal Sun. In the aspect of giving life, every living being bears such a unique divine signature that even if all natural causes were to gather together and each were granted independent will and creative power, they would still be utterly incapable of producing or imitating that signature.

For every living being is itself a miracle of Divine Power, a focal point where the rays of the Divine Names are concentrated, just as rays proceed from the Eternal Sun.

Therefore, unless the extraordinary artistry, the astonishing wisdom, and the manifestation of Divine Oneness (Ahadiyyah) displayed in every living creature are attributed to the One, Unique, Eternal God (al-Ahad, al-Samad), one would be forced to believe that within every living thing—even within a tiny fly or a single flower—there exists an infinite creative power, an all-encompassing knowledge, an absolute will capable of governing the entire universe, and indeed the eternal attributes that belong exclusively to the Necessary Existent (Wājib al-Wujūd).

Such a claim is equivalent to attributing divinity to every atom of that flower or that fly. It is among the most absurd forms of misguidance and the most foolish of superstitions.

For the atoms composing every living being—especially those contained within its seeds—are arranged in such a way that each atom acts in harmony with the order of the organism to which it belongs. Indeed, it behaves as though it were aware of the entire species, for it is equipped—like a seed provided with wings—to spread itself wherever necessary in order to ensure the continuation of its species and to raise its banner throughout the earth.

Furthermore, it assumes a position perfectly suited to maintaining all the relationships of nourishment and interaction between that living being and the countless creatures upon which its life depends.

Now, if that tiny atom were not a commissioned servant of the All-Powerful One (al-Qadīr al-Mutlaq), and if its connection with Him were severed, then one would have to attribute to that single atom an eye that sees everything and a consciousness that encompasses all things.

In short:
Just as, if the little suns and countless colours appearing in droplets of water and fragments of glass were not attributed to the reflection and manifestation of the one sun, one would be compelled to accept the existence of infinitely many real suns instead of a single sun—an impossibility beyond impossibility and a superstition beyond reason—

So too, if all things are not attributed to the Absolutely All-Powerful One (al-Qadīr al-Mutlaq), one must accept, instead of the One God, innumerable gods—indeed, as many gods as there are atoms in the universe.

Such a notion is an impossibility multiplied a hundredfold and represents nothing but the delirium of utter madness.

In brief: From every single atom, three windows open onto the Light of Divine Unity and the Necessary Existence of the Eternal Sun (God Almighty).

The First Window

Every atom resembles a soldier serving within a vast army. Just as an ordinary soldier has a particular relationship, duty, and orderly movement within every military division—his squad, platoon, company, battalion, regiment, division, and army—so too every atom has a precise place and function within the countless systems to which it belongs.

For example, even the tiny, apparently lifeless particles in the pupil of your eye have specific duties not only within your eye, but also within your head, your entire body, your circulatory system, your reproductive, attractive, repulsive, and formative powers, and within the nerves, arteries, veins, sensations, movements, and all the other systems that sustain your life. Beyond this, they also serve within the continuation of the entire human race.

This self-evidently demonstrates to every unbiased observer that each atom is a work of art fashioned by the Eternal All-Powerful One (al-Qadīr al-Azalī), an appointed servant carrying out its assigned duties under His command and governance.

The Second Window

Every particle of air is capable of visiting every flower and every fruit. It enters each one and performs its particular function within it.

Now, if that wandering particle were not a subservient servant acting under the command of an All-Powerful Being Who sees and knows all things, then that single particle would itself have to know the intricate structures of every flower and every fruit, understand their organs, their methods of formation, their distinct arts, and possess the comprehensive knowledge and skill of a master tailor capable of fashioning every one of the countless forms with perfect precision.

Thus, even a single particle of air shines like a brilliant ray proclaiming the Unity of God.

Compare air with light, water with earth, and you will arrive at the same conclusion.

Indeed, according to modern science, the primary constituents from which living beings are formed are hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen—elements that are themselves composed of more fundamental particles.

The Third Window

A handful of ordinary soil, composed of countless tiny particles, has the potential to become the source of growth for every flowering and fruit-bearing plant.

If you were to fill a small bowl with such particles of earth and then place within it, one after another, the seeds of every flower and every fruit-bearing plant found throughout the world, you would confidently expect each seed to produce its own unique plant, complete with its extraordinary structure, distinctive form, intricate organs, and perfect characteristics.

For these seeds are not materially different substances. Just as the reproductive fluids of animals are fundamentally alike, so too plant seeds consist essentially of the same chemical elements—carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen. They resemble one another in substance, while differing only in the immaterial programme and blueprint entrusted to them by the Pen of Divine Decree (Qadar).

Now, unless those particles of soil are obedient servants acting under the command of a Being Who knows every condition of every creature, Who possesses the power to bestow upon everything the existence most suited to it together with all its necessary faculties, and for Whom the creation of all things is accomplished with perfect ease, then one would be forced to believe one of two impossible alternatives:

Either every particle of soil must contain countless immaterial factories, workshops, and printing presses equal in number to every species of flowering and fruit-bearing plant, capable of manufacturing their infinitely diverse structures and forms;

Or each individual particle of soil must itself possess an all-encompassing knowledge embracing every living being, together with an infinite creative power capable of designing and producing them all.

Therefore, if the connection with God Almighty is denied, one must inevitably accept as many gods as there are particles of soil.

Such a belief is not merely impossible—it is an impossibility multiplied a thousandfold, an irrational superstition utterly beyond reason.

Yet when these particles are understood to be merely obedient servants carrying out the commands of their Sovereign, everything becomes perfectly simple.

Just as an ordinary soldier, acting in the name and by the authority of a mighty king, may accomplish tasks impossible for himself alone—relocating entire populations, joining two seas by constructing a canal, or capturing a powerful ruler—

So too, by the command of the Eternal Sovereign (Sultan of Pre-Eternity and Post-Eternity), a tiny fly may overthrow a Nimrod, an insignificant ant may become the means for the destruction of Pharaoh’s palace, and a single fig seed may bear upon itself the entire programme and future existence of a magnificent fig tree.

Furthermore, in every atom there are two additional truthful witnesses to the Necessary Existence and Oneness of the Creator.
The first is this: although every atom is absolutely powerless in itself, it performs exceedingly great and highly diverse duties.

Though it is inanimate, it acts with such perfect order and harmony that it displays the effect of an all-encompassing wisdom and awareness. By conforming flawlessly to the universal order governing the entire cosmos, every atom testifies, through the language of its own helplessness, to the existence of the Absolutely All-Powerful One (al-Qadīr al-Mutlaq), and by its obedience to the universal order, it bears witness to His Unity.

“Just as every atom contains two witnesses that He (God Almighty / Allah) is the Necessary Existent and the One, so too every living being contains two signs that He is the One (al-Aḥad) and the Self-Sufficient (al-Samad).”

Indeed, every living being bears within itself the Seal of Divine Oneness and the Signature of Divine Self-Sufficiency.

For every living creature reflects, within its own tiny mirror, the manifestations of most of the Divine Names whose effects appear throughout the universe. It is as though every living being were a focal point in which the Greatest Names of the Ever-Living and Self-Subsisting One (al-Ḥayy al-Qayyūm) is concentrated and manifested.

Since each living being reflects, beneath the veil of the Divine Name The Giver of Life (al-Muḥyī), a shadow of God’s unique and indivisible Essence (Ahadiyyah), it bears upon itself the unmistakable seal of Divine Unity.

Likewise, because every living creature is a miniature model of the universe and a fruit borne upon the Tree of Creation, the effortless manner in which all of its countless needs are supplied within its tiny sphere of life is itself a signature of Divine Self-Sufficiency (Samadiyyah).

This state proclaims that it has a Lord Who gives it such complete attention that His care is worth more than the whole universe. His single glance of mercy fulfils every need of that creature, while the entire universe could never replace even one moment of His Divine attention.

“Indeed, One Being is sufficient for everything in place of all things, whereas all things together cannot suffice in His place—not even for a single thing.”

Moreover, this also demonstrates that its Lord is absolutely free of all need. Nothing diminishes His infinite treasury, and nothing whatsoever places the slightest burden upon His Power.

This, too, is a radiant manifestation of Divine Self-Sufficiency.

Thus every living being bears the Seal of Ahadiyyah and the Signature of Samadiyyah, God’s unique and indivisible Essence with Self-Sufficiency.

Indeed, every living creature recites, through the very language of its life:

“Say: He is Allah, the One.
Allah, the Self-Sufficient.”
(Qur’an 112:1–2)

Besides these two seals, there are several other important windows leading to the knowledge of God, but since they have been explained elsewhere, they are omitted here for the sake of brevity.

Since every atom in the universe opens three windows and two further apertures toward the Unity of the Necessary Existent, and since life itself opens two great gateways to the same truth, you may understand from this how all levels of creation—from the smallest atom to the greatest sun—spread abroad the lights of the knowledge of God (Marifatullāh).

From this, therefore, you may also comprehend and compare the countless degrees of spiritual progress in the knowledge of God, and the various stations of perpetual awareness of His Presence (Ḥuḍhūr).
